While all of this work has been going on, other
crews have been working on completing the GEM's massive boom.
Here's the head end of the boom, with the Point
Sheaves in place. The Hoist cables for the dipper will pass over
these sheaves and loop around the sheaves attached to the dipper. The
ends of the hoist cables will then be attached to fixed clevis's just
below ( and inline with ) the point sheaves. |
