David Hope's Mining Scenes All pictures and accompanying notes from: David Hope   B-E 50B Supposed to be the first electric 50-B, it operated at one of Old Ben Mines near Lynnville Ind.It is sitting at " The Museum of ths Coal Industry ", The museum needs help in restoring this machine.     BE 1450W 60 yd. Erected at Pittsburg & Midway's (P&M) Colonial Mine , Madisonville, Ky. in 1964. I think that this is the first 1450 made. This picture was made just after the boom was removed or dropped. A welder stood on the gantry and cut the support ropes one at a time until it fell. Hard to believe, but I saw it on video. NEXT
