The "BIG DIPPER" was a Marion type 5761, carrying a 65 yard dipper on a 170 foot boom. This shovel was later repainter with CONSOL'S typical yellow & orange paint scheme, and the name was not put back on.

 

"BIG BRUTUS" was the name given to this Bucyrus Erie 1850B shovel. Brutus carried a 90cu yard dipper on a 150 foot boom. This machine spent it's working life near the town of West Mineral Springs, Kansas. After retiring, Brutus was preserved as a tourist attraction. Brutus can be view year round, but hours are seasonal
