Starvaggi Coal  Bucyrus Erie 190B Loading Shovel   OK, I've had a bunch of peolpe ask me how the door trip works on a shovel, well here's a good picture of the door, this should answer a lot of questions. The door is tripped by a 3/4 " cable, attached to the clevis shown here. It pulls up on the Release lever, which retracts the latch pin. After dumping, the dipper is pulled back toward the machine, and gravity closes the door.   I Back to Starvaggi Main Page.
